CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH OPERATING SCHEDULE
1. My main priority as license holder for these premises will be to ensure the safety of both myself and staff and of the customers entering my store. I will abide by all legal regulations to ensure my premises are as safe as possible for all who enter.
2. Secondly, I will ensure that no persons under the age of 18 will be able to obtain alcohol from my premises, either purchasing it themselves or from an adult purchasing it for them.
3. I, and my staff, will be vigilant and consistent in asking for valid identification if there is any doubt in our minds whatsoever regarding the age of a customer.
4. By forging close links with other businesses on Main Street, especially the licensed premises, I will be proactive in the prevention of crime and disorder.
5. Good communication, well trained staff and working CCTV will be my weapons in the fight against crime and disorder on Main Street.
6. My store will cause no public nuisance whatsoever and any accusation of such will be dealt with severely.
7. I have a working CCTV system installed and a library of 8 tapes to always ensure a complete weeks recording.
8. I will have prominent notices informing patrons that they are being recorded.
9. This is to discourage people from stealing from the store and to prevent people from illegally purchasing alcohol.
10. I will be extremely strict in regards to who I serve age restricted products to and at what times I sell them.
11. I will keep regular communication with other stores on Main Street, either by telephone, regarding shoplifters, potential shoplifters or trouble causers.
12. I will also keep regular contact with Wine Cellar, the other off license on Main Street, and inform them of any persons under 18 attempting to buy alcohol and ask them to do the same for me.
13. Good, strong links with Wine Cellar, other shop owners and the other licensed premises will be of major importance to me to prevent crime and disorder.
14. I will have prominently displayed signs detailing the essential steps that must be taken if a fire is discovered or the fire alarm activated.
15. All staff employed to work on the premises will be briefed in the evacuation procedure.
16. A fire drill will be held annually or when new staff are taken on and the alarms tested weekly. Full documentation will be completed as evidence of this.
17. All electrical equipment will be checked and certified safe by a qualified electrician on an annual basis.
18. I will also ensure that there are the correct fire extinguishers available and all staff are fully able to use them if necessary.
19. I will also have on the premises a full first aid box.
20. I am also looking into taking a basic first aid course myself.
21. There will be no noise or vibration from my premises and no consumption of alcohol on the premises.
22. Any refuse will be safely and correctly disposed of daily and when necessary which will prevent offensive smells and pests. This will be done at a time best suited for minimum disturbance to local residents.
23. I will have a contract with a pest control contractor who will regularly check my premises for pest activity.
24. I will do all in my power to prevent the sale of alcohol to persons under 18 years of age.
25. I will also be aware of person over 16/18 attempting to buy tobacco/alcohol for persons not old enough. Any such refusals will be document in a “refusal book”.
26. I will have prominent point of sale (POS) clearly showing my policy on not serving underagers as posters on the wall and shelf talkers on the shelves.
27. I will offer leaflets of proof of age cards at the counter for people to take.
28. I will only accept valid forms of identification with photo and date of birth on (i.e. passport, photo driving license, proof of age card, HM forces card).
